Artist Statement

I am fascinated by life experiences and I try to illustrate them. I would like to project what makes itself visible in me. The ability to remember and to process the past is of great importance for the here and now, the present self. It is this feeling of allowing, of listening, of looking which stimulates me to a creative openness. In doing so, I am accompanied by a love of detail. My works appear like dreamlike surreal images, in which fiction and reality meet, past and present merge. Pain, anger and grief play a key role for me. With a poetic and often metaphorical language, I try to approach moments of human drama in a multilayered way. This narrative moment is supported by the titles, poems or lyrics, which cannot be separated from the lyrics, which serve me as inspiration. I love to visualize language, because both, poetry as well as visual art, leave room for associations, transport moods, offer an emotional access, but still have a clear structure, which one has less to understand than to experience. It is about me with a lot of imagination and a feeling for composition to show the world as we potentially carry it within us - but cannot see it, because we are attached to our habits and closed eyes to the essential. The feeling.
It is the exploration of inner suffering and the intense attraction of personal authenticity that leads me on a journey of visuals. Deciphering life experiences while creating art that speaks to and from the soul. I seek to raise awareness of important topics like mental health, to expose the voices of those silenced by inner doubt and to welcome others to fully embrace their undefined, or lost soul.
